Druk 11000 Strong Lager

Druk 11000 is the most widely recognised Bhutanese beer: an 8% strong lager named after the Thunder Dragon.

It is brewed at Pasakha, near Phuentsholing on Bhutan's southern border, using Himalayan spring water, and sold in 650ml bottles. You will find it in shops and restaurants across the country.

At 8% ABV it is considerably stronger than the sibling Druk Lager, so pace yourself, especially at altitude.
