Chang (Chhaang)

Chang is Bhutan's ancient fermented grain beer, brewed at home from rice, maize, or millet and served at festivals and gatherings.

It is mildly alcoholic and slightly sour, and usually drunk warm from a bamboo vessel. It is very different from commercial beer, and a local festival is the best place to try it.
