K5 Himalayan Whisky

K5 is Bhutan's best-known whisky, named in honour of His Majesty the Fifth King and blended and bottled in Gelephu.

K5 is made at the Gelephu Distillery under the Bhutanese Army Welfare Project. It blends 65% Scottish malt (8–12 year, ex-bourbon and sherry casks) with 35% Bhutanese organic grain spirit distilled with Himalayan glacial water.

It is one of the most popular things to bring home. Look in larger Thimphu shops and duty-free at Paro airport, and check your airline and destination country's duty-free allowance.
